Hot food Catering trailer 17 foot. German build. 2006
This trailer comes fully equipped to produce high quality and high quantity food for festivals and shows where the real money is.
It is priced at £12,500. There are cheaper options on the market but they will generally be of the old fashioned burger van type. Its my experience that event organisers these days are now looking for caterers who offer something of better quality and better presented than the “greasy burger in a bun approach”. You can blame Jamie Oliver but people require better food now that’s why there are a lot of griddle type vans for sale cheaper than mine. If you want to live in a lay by day after day buy one of them
This trailer comes with a brand new chargrill barbecue(cost £850) and A De Marco filter coffee machine( around £2,000) both are designed to produce high volume and high quality.
Mine is also pretty much fully equipped. Clean and in very good condition.
To do well and get into festivals now you have to.
1 Sell healthier food. Barbecue food is healthier. A decent salad with the good quality Pitta, wrap or Panini and you’ve got real good healthy grub. Vegetarian options do well too! Kebabs etc
2 Be Ethical. Free range, organic meat. Will impress the show organisersand taste better. Local produce is also good. Fair Trade coffee and tea is now being asked for by some organisers.
3. Offer Creative food. Marinades, interesting sauces ( chilli bean burger with pomegranate sauceand red onion saslad is dynamite!)
salad and
That’s enough as to why you need a better van here’s what’s on offer.
Brand new chargrill barbecue.
“De Marco” two tower (5 litres each) coffee filter machine for constant decent coffee.
Electric till.
Extractor fan ( put it on the roof and aim the barbecued meat smells at the crowd and they will come!
Twin stainless sinks with electric pump hot and cold running water
All water containers and pumps
Two freezers under counter
Four fridges under counter
Smoothie maker, and chopping blocks,
Paper towel dispenser, (a bloody god send!)
The trailer tows very well and is single wheel which means you can manouver it on site easily. All lights work.
Two 32k generators in very good condition (cost £600-700 apiece) and reliable converted to LPG
All electric cables and fittings.
Two very Long armoured cables for the gennies ( you wouldn’t want someone’s car running over a normal cable!)
Bins LPG canister, Tow bar lock, tool box, water proof fuse box.
Full length serving hatch with black board specials type boards either side (see pics) these boards have lights to highlight them at night.
Stainless non slip floor.
Full electric lighting inside all working
Full gas certificate still current till 2010
All electrical items PAT tested.
Van can work on gennis or mains elec.
Lastly you will need something else a water boiler for a nice cuppa. And a safe for all the money you can earn. ( I planned on 67-72% GP for barbecue food. Coffee at 6-9p a cup to produce.....well you work out the profit on that.
The artwork if you want it is down to you to do as you please.
Finally lastly I’m selling for reasons that come under “domestic” shall we say, ie i have to sell.
I will now achieve another dream abroad.
